Product Branding

Under the concept of sound product quality, FANCL CORPORATION offers to customers addictive-free cosmetic products. Its new brand, “AND MIRAI”, launched on April 1, 2018 focuses its attention on the lifestyle of modern people under the concept of “Supporting Everyday Life of Busy Today’s Women”. This is a skincare brand based on a new idea that the dryness caused by blue lights emitted from smart phones can be treated.

Solare Hotels & Resorts nationwide operates more than one hotel brand differing in characters including Loisir Hotels and Chisun Hotels. Since June 2015, we have been providing supports for the overall hotel branding of Solare Hotels & Resorts such as the planning/concept development of a new hotel, the designing/interior decorating of a hotel, the planning/development of services including its foods/drinks menus, and the planning/art direction/designing of various goods including its logo, uniform, amenities, website and advertisements. The hotel branding project with Solare Hotels & Resorts aims to offer a new lodging experience to its guests beyond the traditional hotel business framework. To this end, we have started with the restructuring of the existing hotel brands and then, in creating a new hotel brand based on the scheduled launch of a new hotel, returned to the original point with asking ourselves, “What is a trip?” and “What is the concept of a hotel?” We are developing more than one hotel brand by reviewing the relationships between hotels and their regions as well as those between hotels and their guests and by discussing the details of every item from the ideal form of guest rooms and common spaces to the traffic lines in a hotel, amenities and lounge wears. Especially, “UAN kanazawa” is a hotel with a unique concept that we designed as one of the highest quality hotels of Solare Hotels & Resorts. This hotel doesn’t take a form of jut one piece of the hotel chain business developing common, stereotypical hotels nationwide but takes advantage of the characteristics and attractiveness unique to Kanazawa at which this hotel is located. While it is generally important to have a deep understanding on the region where a new hotel is scheduled to be established, we especially needed to do an elaborate research on Kanazawa where this hotel is located unlike other hotel brands developing their business nationwide. Seitaro Design, inc. is emotionally attached to Kanazawa in particular partly because it has in the city of Kanazawa its branch (Seitaro Design Kanazawa) and “serif s”, an antiquarian book store & gallery mainly dealing with typographies. Kanazawa, once a thriving castle town in Edo Period called as Kaga Hyakumangoku (meaning that it used to have a fiscal scale large enough to feed a million soldiers), is a city attracting many tourists inside and outside Japan partly due to the opening of Hokuriku Shinkansen (bullet train) in 2015 in addition to its rich tourism resources represented by the streetscape reminding you of good old days which luckily survived air attacks in World WarⅡ, Kenrokuen known as one of the three major gardens in Japan, Higashi-Chayagai (Eest Tea House Street) full of unique tastes, and art spots including 21st Century Museum Contemporary of Art, Kanazawa launched in 2004. What kind of a name should a hotel have being located at a place as attractive as Kanazawa? What sort of concepts should they be based on which such hotel is designed? Then, we focused on the relationships between the climates and cultures of this place. ‐In the merger of the two beverage manufactures‐Kansai-based “Asamiya, Ltd.” and Tokyo-based “Meiwa, Ltd.”‐and the launch of a new company, we helped them establish its corporate brand from the designing of its corporate philosophy, managerial vision and company name to the production of its logo and various tools.

‐Kawano Pediatric Medical Science Scholarship Foundation (a public interest incorporated foundation), with the hope of the cheerful and healthy growth of children, engages in operations such as subsidizing and giving an award to researchers who specialize in pediatric medical science as well as providing scholarships to those medical students aiming to become a pediatrician ‐We, as the renewal of CI/VI for delivering to you the Foundation’s ideas and activities to as many as people possible, helped the Foundation plan Foundation’s logo, VI tools (name cards/envelops), website and pamphlets as well as engage in the art direction and design producing. ‐This Foundation’s logo playing the most important role in its branding activities contains its compelling, core feeling generated based on an event that most contributed to its launch. ‐In addition, utilizing its key color‐the color of tears‐and curving expressions deriving from its logo mark, we produced its items from name cards/envelops to the website and pamphlets with employing warm and humanly designs that took advantage of the Foundation’s characteristic of supporting pediatric medical science, successfully creating its unified world view.

Chacott Co. is an all-round manufacturer of ballet dance supplies that develop its businesses under the concept of “Doing Good for Dancers”. As a branding strategy for making an appeal of such corporate attitude of Chacott, we, with having Ms. Hannah O’Neill as our model being a top dancer from l'Opéra in Paris, engaged in the production of the season image/copy for 2016 season and the calendar/website/movie planning and art direction for 2017 season.

Chacott Co. is an all-round manufacturer of ballet dance supplies that develop its businesses under the concept of “Doing Good for Dancers”. As a branding strategy for making an appeal of such corporate attitude of Chacott, we, with having Ms. Hannah O’Neill as our model being a top dancer from l'Opéra in Paris, engaged in the production of the season image/copy for 2016 season and the calendar/website/movie planning and art direction for 2017 season.

‐Placing its head office at Takachiho-cho in Miyazaki-ken, TAKACHIHO SHUZO CO., LTD has been producing authentic shochu (a distilled spirit) while enjoying rich natures there. ‐In November 2013, in the release of “Takachiho-Rei” successfully bringing out all the necessary tastes and aromas of original mugi (barley) shochu through its manufacturing process only using black rice malts, atmospheric distillation and long-term maturation, we made a substantial contribution in their planning and artistically directing the total product branding activities including for bottles, advertisements, brand books, websites, posters and sales promotional goods. ‐Takachiho-cho in Miyazaki-ken where “Takachiho-Rei” was born is a place that, as represented by Takachiho gorge designated as a national beauty spot and natural monument, retains primitive natures surrounded by greenery mountains and quietly produces the sound of a fresh stream. It is also a country town from Japanese myths appearing in “Nihon Shoki (Chronicles of Japan) ” and “Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters)”. ‐In this context, first defining the concept of this new mugi shochu named “Takachiho-Rei” as “Genten (original point)”, we succeeded in visually illustrating the marvelous smell of this shochu with its black bottle, black label and black logo blending into the darkness. ‐In addition, by drawing a copy of “Journey into Heart of Flavor” from the concept of “Genten”, we were able to express the world view of “Takachiho-Rei” with a mysterious sense of its existence sitting in the heart of darkness where you should be unable to see anything. We designed various tools in line with our hope that you should, with your finely honed five senses in the darkness, enjoy the flavor of real shochu including the marvelous smell unique to “Takachiho-Rei”.
